Academic Coordinators
The programme at Edinburgh University is co-ordinated jointly by Deirdre Torrance and Dr Mike Cowie. They are based at The Centre for Educational Leadership, St. John’s Land, Moray House School of Education. Deirdre brings considerable school-based experience in various roles across the primary, secondary and special education sectors. More recently she has worked as a 3–14 adviser and then as a Quality Improvement Officer with the City of Edinburgh Council. Mike coordinated the SQH Programme at the University of Aberdeen before accepting appointment here and he has published on leadership themes; he has a background in schools and local authorities.
The Academic Co-ordinators are supported by a team of part-timeTutors, each of whom has extensive experience in either school leadership or Post-Graduate Teacher Education.
